Another day,
Another battle I’m compelled to win
Another way to lose it all
By never letting myself give an inch
And so I brace
Claw my way out to the very end
I’m worse for every effort
That I expend
Each time our pride’s wounded
We light the fuse
A quick reaction, when empathy’s refused
Fight, or flight – we don’t reflect
That victory still leaves a bruise
Tempers rage,
Frustration consuming me
Beat my head against the wall
Instead of breaking through so I can see
Another view,
Another way to live and learn
Stronger with a critical eye
And the insight that I’ve earned
Each time our pride’s wounded
We light the fuse
A quick reaction, when empathy’s refused
Fight, or flight – we don’t reflect
That victory still leaves a bruise
That which does not serve my growth
leaves me buried
Stuck in the ruins of bridges burned
by the fire in me

This entire album rips. I've had this on repeated play several times since it came out. I wish I had heard it a week earlier when they played in Boston. One of my fav albums in this genre period. slimes
Dead Cross, Retox, and Qui members dish out subversive hardcore with an indignant smirk; come for the riffs, stay for the synth experiments. Bandcamp New & Notable Mar 31, 2024
Knockout debut from a Buffalo, New York-based hardcore band who like their riffs sick, their drums fast, and their choruses sticky-sweet. Bandcamp New & Notable Mar 28, 2024
