Inspired by the irrepressible Nina Simone.
When asked what freedom means to her she replied, “No Fear - a new way of seeing things.” Despite all the oppressive and ostracizing factors in her life as a woman of colour, civil rights activist, abuse survivor and performer/songwriter of the “devil’s music”, she found her liberation through perspective. She remained untouchable by personally reframing and redefining her value and potential in the world.
It’s a new dawn. It’s a new day. It’s a new life. We’re feeling good.
